We are so glad that you chose us to provide for your counselling needs and goals. We are here to support you with your mental health and well-being.

Here are a few things to take note of:

▪️ To book an appointment, you will be asked to create a profile on this platform.

▪️ Please make sure to click “Intake Forms” in your client profile to ensure all necessary forms have been completed.

▪️ We require a credit card or debit/credit card on file to reserve your session time. Please add to your profile/account.

▪️ We currently do not offer direct billing. Clients are required to pay at the end of their session and will receive a receipt to submit to their insurance company of choice.

▪️ Online counselling is available to individuals living in Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, Nunavut, Saskatchewan, NWT, and Yukon.

▪️ If you cannot keep the scheduled appointment, please notify our office to cancel or reschedule the appointment 48 hours in advance of the scheduled appointment time. If you do not show up to your appointment or cancel less than 48 hours in advance, you will be responsible for paying a late cancellation or no show fee.

▪️ For immediate help, emergencies, or crisis support, please contact 911 or go to the closest emergency room/hospital. You can dial 211 for mental health resources near to you.

Kayla Chorley is a Canadian Certified Counsellor and Counselling Therapist specializing in supporting individuals living with diabetes. Diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at age 12, Kayla understands the unique challenges of managing this condition. Her personal experience has shaped her therapeutic approach, blending psychological expertise with insights into diabetes management.

With over five years of professional experience, Kayla holds a Master’s in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University, focusing on chronic illness and mental health. Her practice, Pineapple Therapy, is known for its compassionate approach, offering individual therapy, group support, and workshops. Kayla employs evidence-based techniques like Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help clients build resilience, manage stress, and improve their overall well-being.

An active member of the diabetes community, Kayla speaks at conferences, contributes to publications, and collaborates with organizations to advocate for better support and resources.

I am a student intern in my final year of my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology degree (MACP) at Yorkville University. I am extremely excited about joining Pineapple Therapy.

I am deeply committed to fostering an inclusive, culturally sensitive and non-judgmental environment where individuals can explore, navigate life challenges and develop healthy coping strategies.

In my practice I utilize an integrative approach, based on evidence-based strategies which draw from, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) , Emotionally Focused Therapy and Solution- Focused Brief Therapy (SFT).

Whether you are a teen who is feeling overwhelmed, stuck or trying to fit in, or a young adult dealing with huge emotions or navigating difficult career, or relationship decisions – I am here to help.
